The next-generation, all-in-one transcoding software is now being actively worked on, side-by-side with the development of MediaCoder. Here I disclose some interesting features of this brand new software, will possibly named, Transmedia for personal use and Transerver for organization/enterprise use.
Transmedia
- Easy-to-use and efficient media transcoding
- UI/core separated design
- Pipelined task processing
- Segmented transcoding
- GPU accelerated encoding
- User-participating mobile device support for transcoding
- Media streaming with real-time on-the-fly media transcoding
- uPnP and DLNA support for digital media device connectivity and discovery
- Handy media library feature
- Media playback and transcoding benchmarking feature (like PCMark)
Transerver
- Automated batch media transcoding
- Client/server schema
- Pipelined task processing
- Segmented transcoding
- CPU/GPU co-working for highest possible transcoding performance
- Watch-folder feature
- Distributed/clustering transcoding (master/nodes schema) with loading balance
- Remote monitoring and administration with local user experience
- Integration into 3rd-party systems with interfaces like XML-RPC, SOAP etc.
- Native cross-platform support for both UI and core (e.g. Linux)

Who should I donate to, you or MPlayer Project?
We have no relationship with MPlayer team.
hi,
if its possible to put in system some pluging like settings , similar for megui had. for example, I have enough horse power to make encoding of movie, but dont have time to figure out all x settings to codec. im looking for some HD-INSANE-DXVA-Anime type. Would be nice to have it like that, so even other users can suply own settings for various quality/device.
sound good
thnx
re: client/server processing
Is this akin to beowulf?
With only 100mb wired lan, two wireless clients, how well does the (single?) task master machine delegate transcoding?
and what impact on LAN traffic?
Any value delegating to a pre core2duo machine?
Any value delegating to a P4 machine?
Will this play well with
+ popcorn hour c-200
+ Western Digital’s WD TV HD ** version 2 **
@ miki
user wiki for COMMUNITY VERIFIED configs as the are XML and would not require attachment feature
The data transmitted on LAN is encoded stream instead of raw frames. Usually the LAN should be a dedicated one.
Sounds too good…
Questions /comments.
1. How much will it cost?
2. Will software video developers, agree to transcode free their codecs? Ex: Wmv (windows), Quick, Divx, etc.
3. Do we have to improve our pc?
4. Multimedia HD is upscaling really fast as standard home device, replacing dvd standalone. They have also multi-codec capability, same as normal PC.
So… for the ones who watch converted videos in our tv…
Do we really get to use it?
