Since MediaCoder 0.7.3, multi-threaded version of MPlayer and MEncoder are included in the full pack  distribution (in the past only included in optimization packs). However, as the MT version of MPlayer/MEncoder is still experimental, its inclusion brings some problems with MediaCoder. Decoding of Some H.264 files (mainly MKV) is blocked sometimes. If you encounter this issue, a workaround is to disabling multi-threaded decoding. You can do this by clicking Source button on Video tab. A pop up dialog should display the options of MEncoder and clicking “Decoding threads” and put a value of 1 (meaning single thread) in the blank at the bottom of the dialog.MediaCoder 0.7.3刚发布了几个星期，一些用户发现新版本没有过去稳定。经过调查，发现主要问题是因为新版本采用了多线程版的MPlayer来进行H.264解码，而这个多线程版本目前还不是非常稳定，过去只在处理器优化包中包含。主要现象是解码一些H.264的MKV文件时，MediaCoder会阻塞住。如果您遇到这样的问题，一个解决方法是禁用多线程解码，具体操作如下：

1. 点击“视频”栏上的“来源”按钮
2. 在弹出的对话框中，选中Decoding threads选项
3. 在对话框下方的值改为1（解码线程数）

The Chinese new year of tiger has just arrived. Happy new year to all the fellow Chinese all around the world. On this very first moment in the Chinese new year, and rare to see, the valentines day on the same day, MediaCoder 0.7.3 is released. The splash screen was modified a bit with a pattern of tiger in paper-cut art on it. Comparing to the formal 0.7.2.4582, lots of changes have been made. From this day, you will not be able to find MediaCoder on SourceForge.net. Through the years, MediaCoder was hosted on SF.net as an open-source project and through the years I was the only active maintainer of the project and have been spending time and efforts providing the community with the best free media transcoder. Many people praise for the work that I’ve done and many support me by making a donation. The only thing I’ve never got is a significative help on the development. Meanwhile, I was receiving some requests for explaining or modifying the code from some people who are quite likely working for some enterprises although they usually claimed they just wanted to “study” the code. When I made a decision that I no longer commit my new code to SF.net, it seems many people are infuriated. They spread words here and there about some disputable and untruthful facts. Under the pressure, I was opening the part of the source code of MediaCoder on SF.net again. But these people are still not satisfied as not getting every line of the source code and keep snitching. I kept contact with the senior manager of SF.net and I can see he was kept annoyed by those paranoias. Now the disturbance can come to an end by the removal from SF.net. I can once again concentrate on the development of MediaCoder without spending time and efforts to please those people.

Here I reaffirm, MediaCoder is and will always be a freeware and I have no plan to turn it into a commercial software in any time.

Also the formal web site of mediacoder.sourceforge.net no longer exists. The official web site of MediaCoder is www.mediacoderhq.com.

MediaCoder x64 version full installer is released. Now it’s no longer necessary to upgrade a 32-bit installation to 64-bit with the MediaCoder x64 updater. In the x64 version, besides MediaCoder itself is a native 64-bit application, the following components are in native 64-bit form:

• xvidcore
• Theora encoder
• Windows Media encoder CLI
• JM H.264 decoder
• LAME
• OggEnc
• MusePack
• WavPack
• Monkey’s Audio

MediaCoder 64位安装版已经发布，这个版本的发布免去了必须使用64位更新包更新32位版本的不便。在64位版中，MediaCoder本身是一个纯64位程序。 MediaCoder调用的编码器等组件，有一部分是纯64位版，另外一部分仍然是32位版，这主要是考虑到稳定性因素。以下组件为64位版：

We are pleased to anounce the release of MediaCoder 0.7.2. In the new version, there are improvements and new features just like before. Here is a brief description of the changes:

• AviSynth is better supported. MediaCoder will now generate more exhaustive AVS script, to apply necessary video and audio filtering. Additional script lines can be applied by means of script template (a script with specific variables substitute, a more detailed document will be published later)
• MediaCoder will choose AviSynth as video source to decode in higher priority when there is necessary splitters and decoders installed in the system.
• Automatically loading AviSynth plugins when available
• Ability to use AviSynth in MediaCoder x64 version
• Supporting various subtitles by means of AviSynth’s TextSub and VobSub
• CUDA H.264 encoder updated
• Sync x264 options with the latest x264 build
• Some minor bugs fixed
